Within four months of my 18th birthday I got my car licence. A year later I added my truck licence (C), and during those truck lessons my interest in becoming a driving instructor was sparked. It took a while before I turned that passion into my job, but since 2013 I have proudly and happily run my own driving school.
In 2018 I also got my motorcycle licence. Two practical exams (for motorcycles, the special manoeuvres and the road test are separate exams) and a theory exam later, I knew exactly what it feels like to be a student again. I take that experience with me in the way I teach, every day.
Outside the driving school car I love to keep moving. As an active member of cycling club TWC Vols I enjoy riding through the hills of Limburg, and trail running and running are great passions too. Several times a week I head out with my border collies Kensy and Bella into the Krijtland and the surrounding woods.

My love of driving started early. With a driving instructor for a father, it was almost a given that I passed my driving test before I turned 18. My hobby, dancing, often had us on the road early on Sundays, heading to dance competitions all over the country. What started as extra driving experience grew into a confident driving style in unfamiliar traffic.
After my active dancing career I spent several years teaching various groups and solo dancers. The step from dance lessons to driving lessons felt very natural: working towards a goal step by step, growing together and building confidence. After some research into the profession, I asked my father for his opinion. His enthusiasm gave me the final push: in October 2024 I completed my training as a driving instructor. Since then we have officially been a family business.

Fear of failure or exam nerves?
Léon is a certified instructor for students with fear of failure. He makes sure you approach your driving test calmly and confidently. If needed, we request a special exam for candidates with fear of failure. Léon has also completed additional training in guiding students with autism or ADHD.
